Covering a geographic area of 2.45 square miles, the Town of Boonton is located in the northeastern Morris County, about 22 miles west of the George Washington Bridge and seven miles north of Morristown on route 287.  It's an established community with an abundance of park lands, older homes and convenient access to all parts of the tri-state metropolitan area.

Public transportation to New York City is available via express and local commuter rail (NJ Transit), and by bus service (Lakeland Bus). While many residents commute to work in Newark and New York City, many others work in the surrounding areas of northern and central New Jersey.

Boonton is a vibrant community which is grounded in its historical past.   A rich cultural background has been passed down the years from immigrants who came to Boonton to work in its iron industry. Boonton has been home to abolitionists, a stop on the Underground Railroad and home of the world famous Boontonware.  Trolley cars, vaudeville theatres and hotels thrived on Main Street at the turn of the century. Now the home of high-tech companies, a wide range of restaurants and antique stores, the town has grown and diversified both in its industry and in its ethnic population.
